Rourke made his comeback to acting in 2005, with roles in Sin City, Iron Man 2 and The Expendables."

The new comic was prominently on display at the recent Liverpool Comic Con, where editor Tim Quinn, formerly of Marvel Comics, persuaded many attending guests and fans to pose with copies."

Liverpool Echo

"Liverpool’s largest comic convention is headed back to the Exhibition Centre next month - and one star in particular is already excited. Each year, fans of comic books, film and TV flock to the event to buy collectibles and meet some of their favourite stars, and this year will be no different if the line-up is anything to go by. Teri Hatcher, who is well known for her role as Lois Lane in the 90s TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and as Susan Mayer in Desperate Housewives, is set to appear all weekend."

The Low Down Magazine

"The fans are the driving force behind Liverpool Comic Con and Andy and Monopoly Events team are working hard to deliver a convention by the fans, for the fans. This includes providing a range of activities and guests that will appeal to all, to make Liverpool Comic Con 2019 the biggest and most brilliant yet: “Over the next few years, we've got a three or four year plan to make Liverpool Comic Con one of the biggest Conventions in the UK. I think we can do that and achieve that”."

Liverpool Echo

"Liverpool’s biggest comic convention is returning to the Exhibition Centre once again this year - and with a star-studded panel. Each year, comic book, film and TV fans flock to the event in their best costumes to meet stars, buy collectibles and pose with some of their favourite movie props. 2018 saw stars such as Lou Ferrigno, who played the Incredible Hulk, and the late Verne Troyer of the Austin Powers film series visit Liverpool. The line-up for this year has been announced, though Monopoly Events still has a trick or two up it’s sleeve if the ‘watch this space’ section is anything to go by."

Liverpool Echo

"Sci-Fi, Cosplay and comic book fans can expect full-size set and prop builds including spacecraft and vehicles from TV and Sci-Fi films, high profile guests, retro arcade game cabs and a Q&A session with industry celebrities. Some of the biggest fantasy icons appearing include Lou Ferrigno, the bodybuilder and actor who played The Incredible Hulk, The A Team and Battlestar Galactica star Dirk Benedict and actor Verne Troyer from Austin Powers and Harry Potter. The list really does go on … so for all the latest make sure you follow our live updates from the scene."

The Guide Liverpool

"LIVERPOOL COMIC CON 2018 PROMISED TO BE AN EVENT BY THE FANS, FOR THE FANS, AND IT DIDN’T DISAPPOINT. Exhibition Centre Liverpool was swarmed with comic book fans, celeb spotters and some seriously impressive cosplay characters as the first independent Liverpool Comic Con 2018 got underway. With two full days packed with film sets and props, retro arcade games, special guest signings and photos plus more merchandise than you can shake a Nimbus 2000 at and we were right in the thick of it from the moment the doors opened."

Viva Manchester

"Unlike many other Comic Cons around the country,  there were life-size replicas of some of Sci-Fi’s most famous space ships like, the bat-mobile, the X-Wing and The Tardis. It also featured some retro- arcade gaming cabs and bouncy castles. Ian McNeice who played Churchill in Doctor Who and Fulton Greenwall in Ace Ventura said: ”Most Comic Cons just have the venders, but this seems to have gone one step further in bringing a lot of other attractions, which is great”.  "

BBC News

"Thousands of fantasy fans have descended on Liverpool for the city's Comic Con dressed as their favourite characters. The weekend-long event celebrates films, gaming, comics, anime and TV. Celebrities attending the show at the Exhibition Centre include Flash Gordon's Sam J. Jones. David Soul, Paul Michael Glaser and Antonio Fargas from Starsky and Hutch are also there with their famous car - the bright red Ford Gran Torino. Chris Barrie and Danny John-Jules from Red Dwarf and Dr Who's Peter Davidson are also making guest appearances."

Liverpool Echo

"Comic Con is a place where like-minded people from across the galaxy and all parts of the universe can meet and that’s exactly what happened this weekend in Liverpool Exhibition Centre. Doctor Who met up with Spider-Man and Wonder Woman pushed the Incredible Hulk in a pram. Cosplay enthusiasts, sci-fi fans and comic book aficionados turned up in their thousands to enjoy the third year of a big-scale Comic Con event which has been taking place in the city. Fans could get their picture taken with stars such as Verne Troyer from Austin Powers and Harry Potter, Lou Ferrigno, Dirk Benedict and more."

Liverpool Echo

"If the event that came in to Liverpool at relatively short notice at the weekend was anything to go by, this city's comic book love is in safe hands. When you see youngsters beaming at the sight of their heroes, whether it's from TV, film, comics, the wrestling ring or illustration, you realise how special an event Comic Con is. Not everyone's idols are from the sporting arena and they deserve their own place to pay homage - especially when the opportunities to do so are only peppered throughout the calendar, not regular fixtures throughout a season."

JMU Journalism

"For two days, the centre was packed with sets and props from famous films, classical arcade games, traders as well as an all-star line-up for signings, photographs and autographs. The traders’ section comprised of mountains of artwork, comic books, merchandise, with around 40% said to have been sourced in the North West. Gail Beck, stallholder at the event told JMU Journalism: “I think this event is really important for Liverpool. It’s very exciting visually to see what’s here. They’ve brought some American people over, like Dirk Benedict and Lou Ferrigno.""

Cheshire Live

"He may have been the most short-lived Time Lord of them all but former Doctor Who star Paul McGann will still be a big draw for the 2018 Liverpool Comic Con later this year. Other names confirmed for the event so far include Dirk Benedict from The A-Team and Battlestar Galactica, Lou Ferrigno from the 1970s series The Incredible Hulk, former Doctor Who companion Sophie Aldred and Hattie Hayridge from Red Dwarf. The event is back in Liverpool Exhibition Centre this spring, organised by a new company."

Arts City Liverpool

"Comic Con returns to Liverpool this weekend – and it will feature a stellar range of very special faces known to millions of film and TV fans. Dirk Benedict, aka Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck from the A-Team and Lt Starbuck in Battlestar Galactica, will be among the special guests making an appearance at Exhibition Centre Liverpool this weekend. He will be joined in a starry line-up by Verne Troyer, Incredible Hulk Lou Ferrigno, Doctor Who Paul McGann, Star Wars' Boba Fett, aka actor Jeremy Bulloch, and Red Dwarf's Hattie Hayridge among others."

Independant Liverpool

"There will be Robots in disguise, travellers in Time And Relative Dimension In Space, vehicles and ships from a long time ago and characters from a galaxy far far away. They will all be at Exhibition Centre Liverpool over the weekend of 10-11 March.

If you thought there wouldn’t be a Liverpool Comic Con… if you thought no one else could help… and  if you can find Exhibition Centre Liverpool (next to Echo Arena), then maybe you can meet Face from the A-Team."

The Guide Liverpool

"FOR THE FANS, BY THE FANS, LIVERPOOL COMIC CON IS HERE AND WE CAN’T WAIT TO GET OUR ULTIMATE GEEK FIX. This weekend the city will be invaded by the most iconic (and obscure) comic book, film and tv show characters that we know and love, as Liverpool Comic Con 2018 throws open it’s doors at Exhibition Centre Liverpool. The two-day extravaganza kicks off at 9am on Saturday and is bringing a stellar line up of international celeb stars, retro gaming, traders, meet and greets and of course one hell of a cosplay gathering."
